If you could write a letter to yourself as you started uni, what would you say?

Of course this is easier to say this all with the benefit of hindsight, but take it from someone who’s been where you are, done what you’re doing, and fully experienced both sides.

You know the truth, you know life apart from Him will never satisfy, think of what Jesus says in John 10:10, he came to bring life in abundance! Culture will tell you that that’s a lie, that we can find true fulfilment by pursuing sex, drugs, drunkenness, and we can find purpose and our calling by working hard and climbing the career ladder, gaining status, accumulating wealth etc. I understand where you’re at, I get the struggle, I get the draw of it, I was there once, but I also remember the 'morning after' feeling of conviction; the Spirit reminding you that there’s so much more to life! It’s deeply unsatisfying, you know this already, even now, before you go to uni, you know how troubling it is for you to live your life on top of the fence, somewhere between the short-term gratification of culture and the truth of full-life with Jesus. Choose life! Choose an adventure with Him at uni. Choose to get close to him and pursue holiness and integrity. Choose to bring His kingdom on campus!

If you entered campus and made a stand for Jesus, think of the impact you can make in your flat, think of the people around you who will be able to find life in Jesus. I’m not coaxing you into this, that’s not my job, it’s the Spirit’s work. So I pray that you will find life in Jesus again, go back to him, he’s got a life of excitement, joy and fulfilment waiting for you, you just need to turn back to him and let him in.
