Walk With Purpose

But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 15:57 NIV

As we all know, Easter is a time for celebration! Celebration that Jesus died for us, tore the veil in two, and welcomed us into relationship with Him. Celebration that He rose from the dead, defeating sin and death forever. There’s a heck of a lot to celebrate!

For students however, the Easter holidays can also be a very hectic time. Deadlines looming, revision piling up, and (especially for final years) thinking about the year ahead, it can all get overwhelming. There just doesn’t seem to be time to get everything done.

With all this, third term is quite tricky. What’s more, like for me in Leicester, there might be students in your community from another university who have very different term dates. Sometimes it feels disjointed and purposeless. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Have you taken time today to stop worrying about what’s coming up and thank Him for all He’s done? I want to challenge you to truly celebrate Jesus’ victory, what He saved you from and what He has called you into. There is so much to be joyful about!

Here’s a few reminders:

Stop stressing for a minute and just praise. Stop rushing from one thing to the next and just be. Step away from your work. Go for a walk, get creative, dance around your room. However you like to spend time with your Father, make time for it this Easter break.

Then you can walk into third term with purpose, knowing who you were created to be. God has so many plans for summer term, however short or busy it is. When you submit that assignment, walk into that exam, or make that decision...remember who He is and who He says you are.
