Open Season

In some seasons of life it can feel hard to hear God’s voice. At Wildfires, there was no such problem.

Upon approaching the main tent, I got a vivid sense of a thin veil between Heaven and Earth on that campsite. Prayers and prophetic words flowed naturally from every corner of the room.

For us as Fusion team, it was amazing to catch some of God’s Holy Fire, building our own faith and expectation for what God will be doing at Firebrands!

One particular prophetic image stuck with me, and I believe it’s for me to share with you so that you might catch some of the Holy Fire I’ve taken with me from Wildfires.

Open Season

I found myself stood at the gate of a large field, flanked by large green trees, and the sun was setting in the distance. Various animals and shrubs were in the field.

God then opened the gate and declared “It is open season!”.

Upon that, He went to work in the field, ordering and shaping things as he wished. I laid down on my front so as to watch, but as I did that He then came to me and worked on me, reordering and re-prioritising me.

By the time He had done His work, it was getting dark, but there was a bright glow coming from over a hill, so we walked towards it.

From the hill, we saw an army stood in glorious, blinding white! They stood innumerable, as they covered the valley ahead of us. God gave the word and they mobilised, heading out from the valley.

Holy And Pure

After receiving this image, I had to ask God what it was about!

He said the period in the field was Him bringing all things into alignment with His glory, and so that meant He needed to work on me. In that time, He focussed my thoughts on purity and holiness, so that I might be able to experience the fullness of what He had to show me.

He then explained the army I saw had gone through the same process, that was why they were glowing white. They lead lives so pure and so holy that the glory of God shined from them. God said He’s calling us to live that way too!

He’s calling us to be a generation that doesn’t stand for sin and temptation, instead, calling us to be a generation that leads pure and holy lives that honour Him. Lives that are so committed and in relationship with Him, that we can’t help but shine with His glory.

Right now, ask Him, ‘what does it mean for me to live a life of holiness and purity?’. It may mean reading the bible more, saving yourself sexually for marriage, spending more time worshipping in His presence.

But whatever it is, God has more for your life and so He wants you to lead a holy and pure life so that you might be able to fully live in the inheritance He has for you.
