Week 41 - Prayer, Pub, Alpha

Cornerstone Church Swansea absolutely love to welcome students and invite them to feel at home in Swansea and find a church family. They’ve been investing in students for more than a decade through ups and downs. They regularly see students invite their friends to Alpha, lead their friends to faith and have a high value for discipleship and family. Hollie Chappell, their student worker, recently shared a story with us about one of their top student mission stories of the year.

"Hannah is one of our trainee Student Leaders here at Cornerstone church in Swansea. Over the past year, she’d been praying for her housemates, Katie and Izzy, for an entire year for them to come to faith. She started by inviting them to our socials like beach days and bonfire night. After meeting some of us, this September, they both agreed to do Alpha and attended our Alpha course run by students in October at Pub on the Pond next to the Swansea University. On the Holy Spirit Night, they both had an encounter with the Holy Spirit and gave their lives to Jesus and became Christians. Since then, Katie's life has been transformed! She attends church, has a relationship with Jesus, serves on the hospitality team at church and has just been baptised!"

It all happened because Hannah kept on praying for Katie and Izzy and didn’t give up. Katie's life was transformed because she was INVITED and was given an opportunity to say yes!

Who are you praying for?

Who can you give an opportunity to say yes to an invite?

Every week of the academic year, we are sharing a story of student mission. If you have a story to share, let us know
