Week 49 - Sharing faith in Sweden

We loved being at Wildfires this weekend, where we met Agnes at a Fusion event. This is her story of sharing her faith at university in Sweden...

"My name is Agnes, and I come from Sweden. Last fall, I started studying at the university in Sweden, in a city called Ronneby, and I didn't know what to expect when I went into university. I think I went around telling myself that everything was possible for God, but I didn't really believe it until my classmates started showing an interest and curiosity in the Bible and in God and the church and everything around it. And so we started talking about it. And after a while, I I said to them, well, you know there's something called Alpha and maybe we could do it together. So me and my friend started an Alpha course in our living room, with four students from the university. We didn't finish before the spring was over, so we said we'd continue in the fall.

One of my friends who is doing the Alpha course with me, had borrowed a Bible from me over the year. When the summer came, she wanted to return it to me, but I said, well, keep it over the summer, and then we'll talk about it when we come back. And she looked at me with her eyes wide, like, really? Can I keep it? And it's just amazing to see that it's not only in the UK, it's not only in this country, it's all over the world. Right now, there's an awakening with students being interested and curious about the Bible and people opening up. It's been an amazing year and I think God wants to do things all over the world right now."

Every week of the academic year, we are sharing a story of student mission. If you have a story to share, let us know
