What if the leaders of the coming awakening do not even know Jesus yet?
We at Fusion have been noticing for many months now the increased spiritual hunger among students, with many earmarks of a coming spiritual awakening. We are definitely seeing the first fruits with many students coming to know Jesus across the country.
I am struck by how students in my local context who have recently become christians and seem to have so deeply captured the Father’s heart for the lost, for the poor, and for Jesus in such a short period of time. One such story is of a student who has come to know Jesus in the last month and is already starting up an Alpha course in their front room with the help of those who evangelised to him in the first place! The testimonies of students meeting Jesus and then speaking out on campus saying ‘hey it has happened to me and my life has changed in only a month! It can happen to you too!’ is truly remarkable and impactful.
This has led to many discussing what it looks like to disciple a Jesus movement of young adults all who have encountered the living Jesus either through scripture, healings, waking visions, dreams and many more ways too! I think the first call is to pray…
Do it Again on January the 31st will be an amazing opportunity as the national Church to come together unified to pray “Lord DO IT AGAIN” on our campus and may those that do come know you deeply.
Secondly, is to pick up our roles as spiritual parents in the local church. Students are desperate to be discipled to become the men and women of God the Lord has designed them to be! Please consider mentoring and getting connected to students in your city!
There are many more action points I could speak about but the call today is to get excited and sow in to all the Lord is doing in students on this very day.
