We love to welcome people. One of our main values is that church should be a family and we try to live this out in real and tangible ways. We have lively style of worship, seeking intimacy with Jesus, and a desire to hear and carry out the Word of God.

Our church family is diverse and multi-cultural; with children’s work, youth work, young adults, groups for the elderly, and much more.

We are passionate about serving our local communities, and seeing the Kingdom of God grow in Reading. Through 'Love Your Community' we currently run initiatives, Acorns Nursery School, Conkers Pre School and are partnering with Chapter 2 another local charity to provide male mentors to young men who haven't had a positive male role model.

The Gate has 'Connect Groups' meeting in local communities. One of these is based near the Whiteknights Campus. It meets on Monday evening @7pm with food, fellowship, worship and bible study.

We are part of the Baptist Union and one of the leading churches in the Barnabas Fellowship of Churches which is a group of churches and ministries across Europe and Africa and the Middle East. In partnership with BFOC we are actively involved with overseas mission, as well as being committed to mission in the UK.

What do we do for students?

- A Connect Group meeting on a Monday Evening @7pm for food, fellowship, worship, bible study and prayer.
- Transport to church services that will bless and build you up in your faith whilst also encouraging practical application you your day to day life
- Pastoral Care whilst you are at the University
- Opportunity to reach out to your friends with the gospel

We are One Church with several communities. We currently meet at two sites on a Sunday in Tilehurst and Sindlesham near Wokingham both at 11am. (1 Bearwood Rd, Sindlesham, Wokingham RG41 5BG) Our Tilehurst service is live streamed on youtube. A minibus or lifts in cars are available to our service in Tilehurst.
