The Beacon Methodist Church

Students worshipping together, praying together, eating together, learning together and growing together. Student-focused and student-led.

A bit more...

The Junction is worship for students, shaped and often led by the students who come.
We believe passionately that we all have a calling to discipleship, and that there needs to be freedom to discover how that call is to be lived out. So we explore themes in our worship, which are relevant to modern life, and we encourage all to bring, use (and sometimes discover) their gifts.
We stand in the Methodist tradition, with its focus on engaged worship and social justice, and we explore patterns of worship which are relevant and appropriate to students and young adults. We vary between a quiet, reflective style and a style which involves discussion and more singing.

What do we do for students?

The Junction: Worship for students and young adults, every Sunday during University terms, 7pm - quiet and reflective, or discussion-based.

Weekly Bible study, Wednesdays, 3pm - relaxed and informal

Coffee at the Manse - relaxed evening at the chaplain's house, with tea/ coffee, cakes, conversation, games, piano... Occasionally on Sundays, 8:30pm

Student meals - shared meal before the Junction, free the first time you come (otherwise £2.50). Monthly on Sundays, 5:30pm

Trips to the pub - relax and chat together, to get to know one another better, after the service.
