St Luke's, Southsea
A bit more...
At St Luke's we want to welcome students into our church family, and be a part of your uni experience while you are studying here in Portsmouth. We are a city centre parish with a heart for the local community and a vision for doing something radically different. With new student halls literally across the road from us, we are really excited to get to know you and invite you all to be a part of re-imagining our role in the community over the coming months.
Our Pioneer Ordinand Susie is helping us to explore new ways of being missional in contemporary culture while she trains for the ministry, so if you are a little restless in the midst of church as you know it, maybe we can help...
What do we do for students?
University is a whole new chapter in life, and will be a time like no other in terms of making new friends, having new experiences and facing new challenges. And we know that sometimes things get a bit overwhelming - pressure from exams, homesickness, financial stress... Whatever life throws at you, we'll be here to help you catch it!
We offer a quirky and growing church community, with lots of opportunity to get involved - or to just come along for a bit of space away from the madness of studentdom. Wherever you feel you fit, you are welcome to explore your faith and your new city with us!
When & Where
Sundays start with 0930 Family Communion, or join us a bit later at our new Sunday Brunch, 1130 for good coffee and a bacon butty...
Or alternatively come and find some space in the bustle of life with our cycle of reflective worship services "Space" on a Sunday evening.
