Jesmond Parish Church

We're a large, lively Anglican church family of all ages and many nationalities, where many students find a home with us while in Newcastle.

A bit more...

Whether you're looking for a church or just looking into what Christians believe, we'd love to meet you. We are right in the centre of the city, next to both universities, so easy to find. Jesus Christ is at the centre of all we do; so the Bible is our focus as we aim to know and serve him, and to make him known, here and world-wide. Why not try any of our Sunday services to find out more about us – and about Jesus? Or get in touch with us if you fancy meeting up for a coffee first.

What do we do for students?

Student Supper
Each Sunday in term time after the 6.30pm service
Stay around after each evening service in term time for our Student Supper - a two course meal served in the church hall for only £2.50! A great way to make new friends and catch up with others.

Each Tuesday during term time, 5.45pm at the church hall.
Focus is our small group Bible study and is a great way to find your home at JPC and to get stuck into the Bible. The evening starts at 5.45pm for those who can make it with a soup and a roll. During the meal we briefly highlight an issue it would be good to think through then it’s off to small groups to study the Bible together.

Life Explored and Christianity Explored
Regular groups throughout the year
You may be unsure what you believe or asking lots of questions about the Christian faith. If so throughout the year we run informal courses called Life Explored or Christianity Explored. These sessions include short films, discussion time based on a Bible passage and the chance to ask any questions that you might have.

We meet at 10:45am and at 6:30pm every Sunday for our services. We find that more students come to the 6:30pm service as we meet afterwards for a meal, but we encourage you to try out both so you can get to know the church family. Throughout the week we have various different small groups where we have the chance to look more into the Bible to grow in our love and knowledge of God.
