A bit more...
St Mary's Church off Wessex Lane and St Alban's Church off the Burgess Road form the Parish of Swaythling, where our diverse, friendly, all age congregations are ready to welcome you. We seek to live out the love and grace of Jesus in our communities through our regular worship, community events, activities for different generations and plenty of opportunities to walk alongside each other and be real as we work our way through the often challenging and messy world around us. We welcome everyone to any of our events or services, wherever you are on your journey.
What do we do for students?
All of our activities are open to students - from our worship to bible study, film club to serving lunch to pensioners to helping with after school activities, at coffee mornings and crafternoons. We hope that the open, creative style of the new service on a Sunday evening - Threshold - will appeal to those seeking to explore their faith as they journey through university life. Every Tuesday lunchtime from 12:30-1:30 there is soup and rolls and a warm welcome available at The Vicarage. In all we do we aim to act as an extended family, with people from across the generations worshiping, serving and learning together. Please do get in touch if you'd like to know more.
