About us

Emmanuel is a thriving church in Brighton. We exist to help people find their way back to God, so everything we do as a church reflects this value. Everyone is welcome to Emmanuel, whatever stage you're at in your journey of faith.

Our Sunday services are made up of preaching from the bible, worship, and opportunities to respond through prayer and taking communion together.

We also run all sorts of groups midweek. So whether you're really keen to connect with more students, playing volleyball on the seafront, serving others or learning more from the Bible, they'll be a group that's right for you.

What do we do for students?

Students play a massive part in the dynamic of Brighton and that's reflected in our church too. We have a large number of students knitted into community on Sundays and also during the week so there's loads of things to get involved in.

We have midweek small groups where students find community and grow in their faith, social events both big and small - like our Christmas Ball, pub quizzes, house parties, meals out, pub trips, BBQs on the beach and loads more!. We also have regular student weekends away as well as our dynamic Sunday meetings and many other events!

Every student is different but our aim is that every student finds a home here and is able to feel part of the family.

We meet onSundays at 10.30am & 6pm at the Clarendon Centre

Everyone is welcome at our morning and evening meetings. The 10.30 meeting is made up of people from all ages and phases of life, including many visitors. There is a full children’s programme, complete with crèche facilities and a baby room.

At the 6pm, the style of the meeting reflects the large numbers of students who attend, but once again, anyone is welcome. It’s possible the music will be a little louder and we don’t provide a children’s programme in the evening.

For those wanting a low-key introduction to the evening meeting, we run a live big-screen video link to the downstairs lounge where the coffee shop is open throughout.
