City Church Newcastle
A bit more...
City Church started in 1994 aiming to reach a great City by growing an urban, Jesus loving, bible-based and Spirit-filled church that'd show the love & goodness of God with both words and works.
Since then we've started a couple of charities, run missions, done loads of Alpha, started student work, youth work, an elderly project, become more multi-cultural, planted a couple of churches, learnt loads of lessons, cried, laughed and grown a bit.
We are part of NewFrontiers, (served by the Catalyst team), members of Evangelical Alliance, and love working in partnership with other churches from around Tyneside
Every Sunday about 300 of us gather at the CastleGate, our building here in the centre of the City of Newcastle. We run City Groups and loads of other stuff throughout the week. Whether you are a Christian or someone with questions we'd love to meet you!
What do we do for students?
We run loads of stuff if you want to grow in knowing God, make friends or be a part of changing lives. We meet on Tuesday evenings at City Church to worship together, get some teaching specific to students and go out into the city to see God's kingdom grow. Student life doesn't just stop there we encourage every student to be in a discipleship group, be accountable to one another, go on outings to the beach or the countryside, come on the amazing weekends away, take part in the church wide easter egg hunt or just go to the pub.
While we do things as a student group we massively encourage our students to be part of the wider church because there are some brilliant things going on, some great people to meet and together we can make a real impact.
