A bit more...

York Community Church has been a witness for Christ in the east of York since November 1993. We are a real mixed bag of believers, varying in age, social backgrounds and Christian experience. Yet in the midst of our diversity we are united in our vision:

together, to know God and make Him known.

Over the years we have met together in various congregational structures and participated in a breadth of mission activities. We remain committed to our values of: faith, love, unity, trust & enjoyment; and also to our mission purpose of making disciple making disciples.

Christians Against Poverty - YCC is a registered CAP Centre meeting the needs of local people who find themselves in all sorts of financial problems. The CAP work and other YCC linked social ministries offer students practical mission experience beyond the walls of the church.

What do we do for students?

YCC offers you a welcoming, loving family who are committed to supporting you through your time at university. We are committed to encouraging, serving and discipling you and giving you opportunities to grow in your gifts! As you get stuck into life at YCC, you are invited to take advantage of the following:

Family Lunch - a free lunch is available every Sunday during term time after the main service. These are hosted by a variety of people in our church and serve as a perfect way for you to network with other York-based students and build valuable church connections.

Mentoring - we offer you the chance to be mentored by members of our congregation, who will be available to meet, chat and pray through anything you might be struggling with or have questions about. As part of this, you are invited to join one of our many evening home groups during the week.

Opportunities to serve - you will be encouraged to become active members of our community and serve in various ministries including: worship ministry, children's work, youth work and short-term missions.
