City Church, Belfast
A bit more...
We are an independent Church set right in the heart of 'The Holylands' - the student land in South Belfast.
We meet together on Sunday morning to worship God, then unpack portions of Scripture and dig down to discover Gods truth together.
We are connected to 24-7 Prayer and we run weekly prayer spaces 3 times a year with other one off 24 hour prayer spaces dotted through out the year. We love prayer!
But also we get excited at 'going' and being salt and light. We engage in a lot of local social justice issues, with particular emphasis on debt and food poverty. We run a very busy weekly youth and children's ministry too, including a vibrant kids Club, reaching out particularly to the local Roma population.
As a Church we also established and run the uber trendy and fair trade Cafe 'Common Grounds' which is Belfast's first and only not-for-profit Cafe-all profits go towards third world and local issues. Our Church meets above the cafe.
Our student work is developing, with strong links to Fusion and a weekly Student Cell. We love students and have big vision for their involvement and growth in our church community.
What do we do for students?
We facilitate and run a weekly student connect group, aiming to see students connect to God and each other through prayer, Bible study and worship.
We hope to take the student team on mission to countries on our heart.
We have big vision for our local community and for students, and can't wait to meet you!
