Lister Hill Baptist Church

We're a family church who love following Jesus. We think he's awesome and hope you will too! Whoever you are you're welcome here.

A bit more...

We are a friendly, Bible-based Baptist Church. We believe God’s love, shown in Jesus, is for everyone. As a family of all ages you are welcome to join us, no matter what you believe!

We want to worship God, enjoy being with each other as members of his family, and serve him in Horsforth and beyond. When we meet together we believe God wants to speak to us, and through us (we believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit).

We are a member church of the Baptist Union of Great Britain and are located close to Leeds Trinity University College and are always pleased to offer a home from home to students, whether from Britain or overseas.

Lister Hill is a family church in its truest sense. All ages are welcome here and there are activities and groups for all ages too.

What do we do for students?

Although we are relatively new to providing activities specifically for students, one thing that happens very naturally is the relationships that develop with students who come to us. If you are a student visiting Lister Hill don't be surprised if you very quickly find yourself in a family home having a lovely meal! Students are also encouraged to get to know us better in one of our weekly house groups. There are plenty of opportunities for students to serve with us too, but please know we don't want you for what you can give to us - we want to help you be who God wants you to be.

Sunday morning: 10.30 am

We gather to worship on Sundays at 10.30 am and on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month we have communion (we use gluten free bread). There is a Sunday school for children every Sunday morning, and on the last Sunday of the month we enjoy a free meal together after the service. It's a great chance to get to know us and you're most welcome. There's enough food for you too!

Sunday evening: 6.30pm (1st Sunday of each month including communion)

These services are usually smaller, quieter and more reflective, starting with a brew for all who would like one. If you don't like big crowds but want a space to meet with God, this could be right up your street.
