Prayer Changes Things

There are many great reasons for us to pray if we want to reach all students with the good news of Jesus. But here are my top 3!

1. If God is God, then he can do whatever he likes. He could draw the heart of every student towards himself. He could move a generation and change the minds of the unbelieving majority. But he chooses not to do this on his own. That's because God wants to partner with us, his church, in bringing the light to a dark world. There are certain things God will only do in conversation with us. Sometimes he waits until we ask him persistently until he acts. He wants us with him.

2. When we pray, we tune into what God is already. Just like Jesus says in John 5:19, we can be alert to what God the Father is doing and get involved.

3. When we pray, we are changed. Our hearts begin to beat in rhythm with God's heart and we become more passionate for Him.

Jesus encouraged us to pray, and pray like an irritating neighbour banging on the door in the middle of the night. (Matt 7:7-12) God want us to try to get his attention. He loves it! So let's keep ringing Heaven's doorbell as we pray for the students near us.
