Reviving an ancient practice

Get up. Brush your teeth. Shower. Go to lectures. Hang out with mates. Eat tea. Catch a movie. Head out for drinks. Bed.

Is this it?

Absolutely! This is life as we know it and it’s an opportunity, moment by moment, to live imaginatively and radically. This is the start of a conversation that we believe will change the way we think about our faith and do mission, one that will allow us to glimpse more of God’s heart for his people.

The parable of the mustard seed shows a tiny seed grow into an awesome tree: mighty, powerful, influential and a refuge for others – birds, insects and tree houses!

What if this were true of our lives and lifestyle rhythms? What if our mealtimes could be powerful? What if our time with our mates could be influential? What if our morning routine could create a refuge for others?

Sit back, take a minute and just think about the rhythms of your life. What are those things we do every day: the sometimes tedious, often boring, but all necessary components of every day. Now think about how you could re-imagine these so that they impact your friends and honour people around the world.
