On my 10th birthday, my grandparents adopted a panda for my birthday! At that age, I LOVED pandas and so to know that I had my very own panda somewhere in the forests of China-I couldn’t imagine anything better!
Today’s verse reminds us that no matter what our favourite present we have ever received is, there is a gift that trumps them all. The free gift of eternal life which is given to us by God, through Jesus. Unlike my adopt-a-panda kit, this gift does not look like a certificate, newsletter and a cuddly toy. Instead, it looks like a tiny baby, lying in a manger who grows up, is hung on a cross to die and then three days later comes back to life.
As the verse in Romans says, we deserve death. We all make mistakes and fall short of the glory of God. But instead, God chose to send his son to earth so that we could have a relationship with him-isn’t that amazing!

Think of someone you know who doesn’t already know Jesus.

Now I want you to send them a present! It doesn’t have to be anything big but send them something which will make them smile.
As you send this gift, spend some time praying for them that they will come to know Jesus for themselves and so they can also receive the free gift of eternal life.
