"I think your prayer has been answered..."

The Fusion Team are regularly on the road in the UK meeting with churches and students. This week, we want to share with you a story from our time on the road. Here's one of Mollie's highlights of the term so far!

“We recently went to Exeter to do some training to ignite students for student mission. There were about 60 students and some of them didn’t even know Jesus!

During the session, we challenged them to pray for their friends by name, and then text that person straight away and invite them to church on Sunday. Initially we had some fearful faces looking back at us, as well as some excited faces up for a challenge. They all began to send texts and minutes later we began to hear responses pinging in. “Yes sounds great”, “Why not”, “I’m up for that”. Some of the responses that were given minutes after sending the first text.

One student in particular had texted her flatmate and invited her to church. Her flatmate responded saying “I think your prayer has been answered because 20 minutes earlier (when the students had been praying for their friends by name), I prayed to God for the first time if I should go to Church and then I got your text”.”

What a joy to hear that students are being bold in inviting their friends to try church! We love that you are a part of the student mission story. Why not take some time to pray for churches and students in the south of the UK today. Mollie has written this prayer to guide you…

“Jesus I thank you for every single student studying along the South coast. I pray that their spirit will be ignited for mission even more so and that we would see revival throughout the university cities in the South because of the boldness and faith of students praying for their friends and inviting them into relationship with you. In Jesus name, Amen."
