As you approach the Christmas holidays you might be processing lots of different things. You might be finishing 2023 with a sense of joy as you reflect on some of the wins and celebrations that happened this year. It might be a different story and you feel relieved that this year is finishing.
If you’re a student you might have just finished your first term of Uni, you might even be focusing your attention on the coming January exams - but hopefully you can take a few days off to enjoy the celebrations too!
You might also be really excited to receive some presents this year too. You’re probably expecting a gift that costs a normal amount of money, probably something over £100 might be a lot. Imagine if someone brought you a car or a house… what if someone sent you £1,000,000, surely that would be too much?
This term I met a student who gave her life to Jesus and the part of the Gospel that captured her the most was how Jesus had given everything to save her. Not only that Jesus had given everything for her, but that Jesus had given everything to her.
"For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich." - 2 Corinthians 8:9
God has given everything for us, and to us. My prayer for you this Christmas is that you would rest in the power of the Gospel and receive the gift of Jesus. May that stir and encourage you in how you can share the gift of the Gospel with others too.
