If you are obedient to God today, you may never know the impact it will have on tomorrow.
Back in the late seventies, a youth group from Manchester came to York to hear David Watson preach. He was the vicar of St Michael le Belfrey church, he had a powerful ministry of renewal in the Holy Spirit and many people were travelling to hear him. The group arrived excited and expectant, but they were sorely disappointed as they could hardly hear what he was saying. There was only a very small PA system which didn't come close to fitting the purpose.
Thankfully, they had heard enough to be firmly stirred by God and were audacious enough to approach David and say, "People need to hear you preach the word of God, but they can't hear you. We have a band and we are going to pawn our instruments and give you a PA that will work for you." They went through with this act of faith and generosity and David Watson took the PA on tour with him around the UK.
The tour went well and people gave generously enabling David to give back to the band more than they had given him. Encouraged by this development, the young risk-takers began loaning out their equipment to others who needed it and God continued to increase their stock.
That youth group was called WIGWAM which stands for (Without Invitation God Welcomes All Men) and today it is a well know sound company that resources many Christian festivals. I was utterly amazed to discover that WIGWAM now serve more than 80% of the rock gigs in Europe.
