The Road Trip

We all know that life is a journey.

When I look back over the last two years of my life I can see mountains and valleys, rainclouds and sunshine.

A few pretty major things have threatened to derail me and my capacity has been diminished at times. I have had times of feeling completely empty with nothing to give. On the flipside, there have been some massively high moments, brilliant memories and great achievements. I have probably laughed more over that time and shared precious moments with friends who took time to listen and understand. My relationship with God has also shifted quite considerably, as I have, out of necessity, taken more time in silence and sought out people I respect to get their wisdom and perspective.

What have the last few years been like for you? Probably some highs and lows, precious moments alongside harder ones. Each of us has our own individual journey to walk yet somehow we are all intertwined. Walking with others makes hard times easier and good times more fun.

So on that note, I wanted to formally invite you to this year's Student Work Conference - The Road Trip. We will be looking at this theme of journeys. How can we walk ours well and disciple students who will stay the course throughout their lives? How can we embrace the valleys and refuel and replenish ourselves? Who are we journeying with and how does our journey point people to Jesus? We have an opportunity to gather together and join Jesus on the road of student mission. The Road Trip is underway, it's gathering momentum and you are invited to participate on the journey. Buckle up!

All of this alongside practical seminars, lots of prayer and inspiring people who are walking this journey too.

It's taking place in Loughborough on 6th-7th September. Bookings are open now with tickets from £40. Accommodation is at the Loughborough Travelodge and we've got a deal of £13 a head based on 2 people sharing a room. Early bird rates apply until 30th June. So book now!

The journey is always better with friends so bring those you are travelling with - your team, those you are developing and those who are developing you.

1 Peter 1:18 "Your life is a journey you must travel with a deep consciousness of God" (The Message).
