Students ask God about their calling in this order:

1. What career should I do?

2. Who should I do it with?

3. How will I do it?

4. Where shall I do it?

We have got things a little mixed up. Throughout the bible, God works with locations. He calls people to specific cities. He tasks them to build the local church there. He encourages his people to seek the good of that city. How about this order instead?

1. Where shall I put down roots?

2. With whom shall I build community? 

3. What shall I do for a job?

4. Then ask God to provide.
