During Students' Union elections any university campus is crammed with people, placards and posters. Megaphones holler out across atriums shouting things like "Vote Big Pete for Rag Chair", "A vote for Melanie is a vote for FREEDOM" and "The most important thing you will do today is vote for Greasy Jim as Vice President for Ethics and Environment." Some slogans are catchier than others.
Amidst of all this frantic activity on Nottingham University campus, a few students from Trent Vineyard decided to give away cakes. A student called Charlotte had the idea and her friend Olivia baked 200 cakes in one night. The next day then went to their university and handed them out.

Matty Patkai from Trent Vineyard said "People were amazed. It worked because it was a time where everyone is trying to get something from you, but these guys were just giving stuff away. They got into loads of conversations with students about church and Jesus and stuff. What is hugely encouraging is that these students just had an idea and got on with it. They just wanted to bless students, so they did."
