If a couple of students came to me with a great vision of doing a banquet for the homeless, I would say "Go for it!"
That's not what James Brown from St Thomas Crookes, Sheffield said to Ian Shepherd and Rebecca Emerson when they came to see him. They had a dream to go beyond the regular food on the streets for homeless people that they had been doing. They wanted to host a great sit down meal for them and make a whole party out of it.
James' response was to say, "Don't do it yet! Wait on it. Pray about it and see what God does with your dream".
This incredibly wise advise provoked them to dream bigger and more sustainably. So a year later they launched the Revive Cafe in partnership with Sheffield Cathedral. Through this they provide an excellent sit-down lunch every Saturday and it is run by the students from St Thomas Crookes. See more of the story here.
Are you allowing the dreams that God has given you to incubate?
