Bang! 6pm September 1st! The football transfer window just closed. Players are stuck at their clubs until January when the transfer market re opens. Fans dreamt of that big transfer, players craved that move, clubs are happy they kept their best players whilst managers wished they worked a bit faster! The time for football players has finished, but you can still choose!
Have you ever decided that tomorrow would be the day that you start that diet? Or that next month you’ll start saving your money? Maybe next January will be when you start reading your bible? We’ve all done it, right?
I’ve done all of those things. I had good intentions but I always gave my excuse that I’d do it tomorrow, next month, or next year. Sometimes we tell ourselves that we have to wait to make a change, that we can’t do it now. Unlike in the footballing world we don’t have to wait until a specific point in the year to make a change.
Now we can make this change right now for a lot of things in our lives. One important thing for you as you approach or return to university is church. At church you will always be welcomed, and always be loved. For me joining a church at university was one of the best decisions I ever made. Don’t wait until after Freshers week, or until January.
You may have those intentions, but I don’t know about you, but I never started that diet, I didn’t start saving my money, and my bible reading didn’t start on January the 1st.
