The Advent season is one of waiting. Not a passive waiting, but a waiting that summons the whole body to be awake and alert. A waiting that causes adrenaline to course through our veins and the heart to pound like a bass drum. A waiting that means we struggle to sit still. A waiting that demands we dance to a new rhythm eagerly expectant for Jesus to be revealed.
And in this waiting, when we have caught a glimpse of Jesus it is time to go and worship. To offer our gifts, ourselves and to cast down our crowns.
Oh that the whole student world could understand this summons and experience the source of peace and joy in this season.
As we long for the second advent, we remember and give thanks for the first.
