We as humans are designed for community, and communities flourish when everyone is working towards the same goals, with the same desire.
What if this was what the church is like, really like? Every separate element being a part of one unified concept.
Wow. This is what Paul was getting at when he wrote his letter to the Corinthian church: "The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up only one body. So it is with the body of Christ...The eye can never say to the hand, "I don't need you." The head can't say to the feet, "I don't need you."...This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other equally. If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honoured, all the parts are glad." (Taken from 1 Corinthians 12:12-31)
If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it.
During the World Cup this summer we are running a 'Blow the Whistle' campaign, to stand up for our Christian family that face severe persecution in countries in the tournament like North Korea, Algeria, and Nigeria. Check out www.opendoorsuk.org/blowthewhistle for more information.
This summer, may we be a voice for the voiceless and blow the whistle on persecution.
