Do you love me?

Here are SOME questions for you…

What is the best question you have been asked and why? What question are you desperate to be asked? And how good are you at asking questions?

Questions are powerful because it’s how we learn, it’s where we gain knowledge, it’s how relationships grow. Asking questions can create room for debate and discovery, they can move us from shallow conversations to life-changing 'deep and meaningfuls'. And they help us see the world through other people’s eyes. It moves us past surface-level friendships, leads us to new revelations about ourselves, others and the world. And it helps us go deeper with God and each other.

Throughout the gospels, Jesus asks questions, he answers questions with questions and then asks even more questions. Great question asking is what Jesus did, it’s what he does and it’s what we need to do to become more like him.

Here are a few questions plucked out of the bible that Jesus asked. What if he had asked them to you now? How would YOU answer? AND WHAT WOULD IT CHANGE?

“Who do you say I am?” Matthew 16:15

A question regarding our understanding of him

“Why are you so afraid? Mark 4:40

A question to help us understand the reasons behind our feelings and emotions

“What is written in the law? How do you read it?” Luke 10:26

A question on our knowledge of scripture and how we engage with it

“Do you love me?” John 21:16

A question to help us understand our relationship with Jesus and where we're at with him

“Do you believe I can do this?” Matthew 9:28

A question that benchmarks our faith in who Jesus is and what he says he can do

“What do you want me to do for you?” Mark 10:51

A question that unlocks the desires of our heart that only God can fulfil

"Why do you call me 'Lord, Lord' and not do what I command?" Luke 6:46

A question on our obedience to Jesus

"Why do you make trouble for the woman?" Matthew 26:10

A question on how we treat others

As disciples of Jesus, asking ourselves and each other great questions is at the heart of being with Jesus, becoming more like him and doing what he did.

We believe in the art of great question asking so we created a tool to help conversations get real, quickly. We want to get the Discipleship Deck into the hands of as many students, Student Workers and Small Group Leaders as possible so for this week only we are offering 10% off, no matter how many you buy!

We have also developed free training on the power of questions for discipleship and mission. If you would like us to come and equip you in this then drop us a message at
