Beth's Response

Beth is a student who was invited to church by her course mate, Anna, one Sunday. That invite transformed her life forever as she chose to follow Jesus that day. I asked Beth a few questions about what the lead up to her accepting Jesus looked like as well as advice she would give to any other students who might be considering faith at the minute too!

1. Before you said yes to Jesus, what did your life look like?

I always had a somewhat belief in Jesus but never considered myself a Christian or accepted Jesus into my life until recently. I was going through heartbreak after a long term relationship and was feeling really down about my life. I was dealing with a lot of insecurities and jealousy and felt like nothing would ever get better. Saying yes to Jesus was the most amazing decision of my life. I now live each day to the full with such joy and gratitude and I have never been so happy!

2. How did you come to faith? Were there any specific people/moments that were key for you?

Two of my best friends from university are Christians and always seemed to have such a positive outlook on life, so I used to ask them questions about their faith. I told them I wanted to become a Christian and accept Jesus into my life but I felt it was too late since I hadn’t lived in faith with Jesus for 19 years. One of them invited me along to Church one Sunday and I was pleasantly surprised at how welcomed and at home I felt. From that day onwards my life has been so much happier! Anna has been amazing - she invites me along to Christian Union meetings and group calls and supported me so much on my journey! I have met so many lovely friendly people and I knew instantly that I was making the best decision of my life.

3. To any students considering faith, what would your advice be for them?

If you are considering faith, I’d highly recommend going along to church or talking to some friends from the Christian Union if you need any support or advice, you won’t regret it! God forgives us for all of our sins and it is never too late to say yes to a relationship with Him. Even if you feel as though you know nothing about God, you have never read the Bible or even prayed before (like me!), anyone can turn to faith and begin a relationship with Jesus. Saying yes to Jesus has really changed my outlook on life and knowing that God loves me and chose me has made me a better and much happier person.
