I'm waiting.

I can’t wait to meet in the church building again

I can’t wait to throw a party for the students

I can’t wait for life to go back to normal

We can spend our whole lives waiting for things, whether that’s big things like a job, graduating, our friends to meet Jesus or small things like lunch and the weekend. In this season I’ve been really aware of how much “I can’t wait for….” and the amount of time I spend longing for a different season, for a change.

Do you feel like you’re in a bit of an in-between season at the moment, maybe a bit of a limbo or maybe you feel that this year is a bit of a write off. I’ve felt some of that over the past few months, but what if God was in the waiting? In the in between? What if you *could* actually wait, and the waiting was good, even a gift.

"Waiting is where we learn to let go of our timing in this traffic, our disappointment in this decision, our hurt in this comment. Waiting is where we learn to let go of our control and expectations and trust that God is good no matter what is happening. Waiting with God is where we learn how to behave when we don’t get our own way. Waiting is where we learn how to forgive people for being their less-than-perfect selves. Waiting with God teaches us to let go of our expectations so we can receive what is given. Waiting doesn’t mean you are doing something wrong. It doesn’t mean God hasn’t heard you it doesn’t mean you are wasting time. Waiting is an invitation to wait with God for he comes to us like the spring rains; when it is time."- Adele Calhoun

We have a choice in seasons of waiting, whether to fix our eyes on Jesus and become more like Him, or to not. Will you allow God to transform you while you wait?
