At the Fusion Conference we had loads of students send in their student mission stories from the past academic year. Some were short, some were long, some prayers, others fun, creative ideas. But this one, although one of the shortest, really stuck out to me and I haven't stopped thinking about it.
One of my mates from uni became a Christian a few weeks ago. We graduated back in 2012, and I’ve been praying for him for over 10 years.
10 years. A decade of prayer.
I’m sure there were many days where they didn’t know whether God would save
Months they didn’t want to pray
Moments where they almost lost hope
Tears and frustration
But after a decade their friend gave their life to Jesus.
You could be part of your friends journey way longer than your degree. Maybe God’s placed you on your course to be the God person for your course mates, the person they talk to a decade on about Jesus when they are ready to give their life to Him.
What seeds are your sowing in your uni friends lives?
Do your friends know they can come to you when they have a question about life, faith and meaning?
How could you remain the God person in your friends lives for a decade?
