Over the past year, The Send UK & Ireland has been praying, planning and dreaming about what it might look like to see a generation mobilised for mission. This has been years of faithful work, discernment, and prayer to work collaboratively for the sake of a generation.
On the 7th of July, we saw tangibly just what this could become, over 6000 gathered in Wembley Arena to worship Jesus, they weren’t there for hype or just for the sake of it. This generation is hungry for the presence of Jesus, not a name or a ministry. JESUS. It was powerful to be in this space and witness a generation of young people, students, and young adults boldly proclaim their love for Jesus and their YES, and to see the world around them change. Over 1000 committed to a missional lifestyle at home and abroad. They aren’t just gathering, they are committing.
Yet, in the midst of all of this, the overwhelming sense is that this is just the beginning.
The Send has created a space for us to come together in a way we haven’t been able to before, and in doing so something so organic has emerged and has taken form and shape, which for me will have a radical impact on the landscape of student mission not just for now, but for years to come.
On October 18th 2024, in 13 locations across the UK & Ireland, we are gathering for a night of prayer to contend for revival on our campuses called ‘Do it Again’. This is going to be done with friends UCCF, CUI, Agape, Navigators, Revive Europe, YWAM and us as Fusion, partnering with local churches and gathering students, this truly will be a landmark moment in the UK & IE for student mission. This is the first time, a truly unified, collaborative prayer gathering has happened with all these organisations together.
Allan Hood says ‘Every great move of God's Spirit has been preceded by a great movement of prayer’. I believe as we gather across 13 locations on one night, to pray, contend and cry out together for God to move mightily in our campuses again, our prayer is this. Lord, do it again in our time, do it again on our campuses, do it again in our nation. Lord, DO IT AGAIN!
I’d love to invite you to pray, pray with us as we finalise church locations to host the nights, pray for the impact of these nights and for all that it might catalyse in the UK and beyond going forward, and finally, mark your calendars. I’d love for you to join us.
