Reaching the Nations on Campus: A Fortnight of Mission on Loughborough campus
Myself and a group of students headed out for a fortnight of campus mission inspired by the recent Fusion Worldview Survey results! Using the survey as a mission tool and equipped with Sow the Word Bibles we jumped into ‘cold contact’ mission. Despite initial nerves, we saw incredible results—over 30 Bibles ordered, prayer happening on campus, and many invitations to church accepted.
One highlight was meeting a group of international students from India, who had just arrived in the UK. We were the first people to welcome them to Loughborough, and many signed up for Bibles and were open to try church. Throughout the fortnight we continued to see them and build relationships with them.
For many of the students, it was their first time doing cold-contact evangelism as many had only come to know Jesus in the last year! What was awesome was witnessing those who had discounted themselves as being ‘good at evangelism’ at the beginning of the fortnight lead the group with confidence by the end! They now have planned to have a weekly slot to be on campus using the survey to open conversations about Jesus.
The mission to the nations is on our university campuses, the amount of international students is increasing year on year, who will tell them about Jesus?
Every week of the academic year, we are sharing a story of student mission. If you have a story to share, let us know.
