Week 5 - Pints and Paints

Fabric Church Manchester started only in September 2023. They are a new City Centre Resource Church in partnership with the Diocese of Manchester and the Church Revitalisation Trust (CRT). Pippa, the student pastor at Fabric, told us some of their highlights from the academic year so far.

“During freshers week, we gave away about 600 pot plants to students. All the plant pots came with QR codes on them that would take them to the events we had on at Church. One of those events was ‘Pints and Paints’ - which was an Alpha launch promo event. We opened up the garage downstairs in church and opened up the shutters into the street. We weren’t sure how many people would turn up but we were nicely surprised when 160 people turned up, most of which were Fresher’s students from university. There were so many people there, that they ran out of supplies. People had to sit on the curb on the sides of the road because there was just no space in the church; there were so many more people there than we anticipated, loads of which have come back to Alpha as a result.”

We love hearing what God is doing in Manchester and in Fabric Church as they play a part in helping advance the kingdom of God through the City of Manchester. Will you join me to pray for Fabric Church and their staff team as they start this new academic year full of hope and vision and anticipation for seeing more people in Manchester come to know Jesus through their evangelistic heart and work?

Every week of the academic year, we are sharing a story of student mission. If you have a story to share, let us know
