We all learn in different ways, and this means we all learn about faith differently too. This ultimately shapes how we share Jesus with others. Mission Styles is a tool designed to help you recognise how you are naturally wired to share Jesus, but it also equips you to share your faith with your friends. It allows you to speak their “language” by deepening your understanding of how they respond to the Gospel.
What is ‘Show Me’?
A Show Me person recognises what a need and tries to meet it. When faced with a problem, they find solutions which they can action. Practical and hands-on, Show Me people want to find the best way of doing things. They want to know that what they do has a beneficial impact on other people. Show Me people are attracted to ideas and strategies that offer real change and that they can put into practice. They are more open to faith in Jesus when they can see it has evidently made a difference in the lives of others; the Gospel resonates with them when they see how it practically helps people and communities on a daily basis. Show Me people will flourish when they are involved in something which has measurable outcomes. They need permission to outwork ideas, regardless of setbacks, and be given clarity and feedback.

Your ‘Show Me’ Friend
Hospitality comes naturally to *Sadiq, and he loves having people over for dinner and hosting film or games nights. He arranged the house cleaning rota and encourages people to do their chores, and he probably sorts the bills too. He always offers to help other people, even if he doesn’t know them, and will often do a job without being asked. If Sadiq knows you’re having a problem, his focus switches to helping you solve it, even if he doesn’t know how too yet. Sadiq is a dream course mate as he’s organised everything for the group project and has probably done more than his fair share of the work. Sadiq is on the Exec of more than one Uni Society, and whether it’s the budget or socials for the next academic year, he has got it planned out. At a party, Sadiq makes sure everyone has a drink or snack, and that the playlist is on point. On a night out, he’s booked the taxis and will be helping that mate who has drunk too much. Sadiq is interested in Church when you tell him about the work it has been doing in the local community. He’s asked you questions before like “If God is loving, why are people suffering?” and questioned your Church’s stance on poverty and climate change.
