We’re now in the middle of Summer and you might be wondering what can I do now that would be helpful to start preparing for the new academic year in September (maybe that feels far away and it’s the last thing you want to think about…).
Have you just finished school or a year out and you're about to start your first year of uni this year?
Have you already done a year or two of study and you’re starting to ask bigger questions as you go into the final stages of uni?
Are you a student worker who is thinking about how to prepare well for a whole new year of student ministry with new faces and returning ones too?
I believe that university is not just a stepping stone that gets you a qualification and helps you take on the next stage of your life. University is a calling. God has prepared the place you’re going to, the friends you’ll meet and the church you’ll join. This is an adventure. It’s time to go deeper in faith and to have fun as you follow God’s leading over your life.

Get inspired!
There are so many blogs on the Fusion website filled with stories of mission from other students who have taken risks and stepped out in faith to see God move on their campus. Read through them and see if anything sparks vision for how you can share your faith with others.
Prepare well
If you’re looking for a church community to be part of then the Student Linkup app is for you. This app will link you up to all the churches in your university city who want to welcome students. You can find all sorts of information and even message the student worker before visiting. Don’t miss out on being part of a great church community which can support and encourage you during your time at uni.
Invest in Resources
There are so many resources out there which are designed to help you share your faith at uni: How To Make Disciples That Make Disciples, DMC Deck, The Student Linkup Sessions.
There is also a group called The Student Evangelist Network. It’s free to join and will connect you with other student evangelists in the UK. You’ll be able to share stories and encourage one another with what God is doing. There will also be opportunities throughout the year to connect as evangelists to do mission on various campuses across the UK. There is also specific training on Zoom from guest speakers on how to get sharper in evangelism.
These are just a few ideas but there are so many more. How can you spend your time well this summer dreaming with God and preparing for the adventure he has in store for you this year?
