Fusion have been travelling around the country running Try Church stands at freshers fairs - and once again, these have proved to be incredibly fruitful!
One amazing story came from High Wycombe, at the University of Buckinghamshire. Ethan, a recent student evangelist, met a girl and asked if she had ever heard the gospel before. She replied, “No, but I’d like to hear it.”
After listening, she said, “Wow, that’s great news - I’m going to need some time to think this through!”.
Ethan noticed she had a walking stick and asked if he could pray for her healing. After the first prayer, she smiled and said the pain had gone from an 8 to a 6. Ethan encouraged her, saying, “That’s great - let’s pray again for 100% healing.”
After praying a second time, she began to shout, “The pain’s gone! Where has the pain gone?!” Completely healed, she was overjoyed. Ethan then asked if she was ready to give her life to Jesus - and she said yes!
Meanwhile…
Kevin was walking around the fair, chatting with the different societies and inviting them to Try Church. When he came to the rugby stand, he asked, “If you died today, would you go to heaven or hell?”
To his surprise, they all shouted back, “No way! We were up for four hours last night talking about this exact question!”
Kevin was then able to share the gospel and the hope he has in Jesus with the whole group.
Overflowing Interest
By the end of the day, 250 New Testament Bibles had flown off the stand, and countless invitations to local churches extended. God is clearly moving on university campuses - heaven is breaking in at the freshers fairs!
