Summer Psalms

Summer holidays as a student are great. They’re long, fun and mostly little to do, (unless you actually do the reading list set for next term!)

Often, with the lack of structure or usual rhythms of life in place we can forget about those all-important habits. With longer lie-ins and different schedules in the day, stuff like reading the bible can often become secondary.

However, reading the bible is important. It’s how God speaks to us, how the Holy Spirit nudges us and how we learn more about Jesus.

That’s why this summer I have set myself a challenge to read at least one Psalm every day.

Psalms are great because they were written by people like us! They are filled with emotions, highs and lows, challenges and worship. Whatever your mood, there’s a Psalm to match.

A psalm I have particularly enjoyed is Psalm 16, check it out!

Why not join me in my Summer Psalms challenge? Or choose a book in the bible to read through and learn about throughout your summer. You may be surprised at how much God will speak to you as you devote some of your time to learning more about him.
