Do not miss this day!

It is only 3 weeks to go until the next Resonate Day and you do not want to miss out!!

‘A resonate day is a day to encourage you as a student worker with a mixture of invited speakers, group work, story-telling, networking, worship and prayer. Bring your student team and have a retreat day on us!’

Last term on Dec 4th, 7 students and I were up at 5.30am and travelled 4 hours from Swansea to Derby for the Resonate Day.
It was definitely worth it!

We worshiped, we were encouraged, we were challenged, we were resourced, equipped and prayed over. There was also plenty of time for group work and discussion to put the teaching into practise straight away!

The students learnt the biblical reasons why mission is important, they learnt practical and helpful tips on how to do mission. But overall, they were encouraged that mission is lifestyle, their everyday walk with Jesus and interaction with their friends.

As a Student Worker, I was challenged, filled with confidence to put new ideas into practise and I also really loved meeting people all across the UK in the same position as me. The part which encouraged me the most however, was that on the way I home I had a bus load of students pumped up and brimming with ideas for mission.

Chizi said ‘The Resonate Day really challenged my heart for mission and gave me loads of new ways to talk to my flat mates about Jesus’

Sam said ‘It was an eye opener, giving us new thoughts and ideas’

Beth said ‘It was encouraging, challenging and a great way to spend time with my friends and worshiping; worth the early morning!’

Some of the Missional ideas they came up with that we can practically start doing were:
-Missional student lunches- the students host a student lunch with their flat mates and all the students from church
-Open mic Night
-Cinema night
-‘See Swansea’ tour day
-Bacon Baps morning during exam time

These were all practical and great ideas that the students came up with which would help their flatmates to hang out with church mates.

Since the Resonate Day, 2 of the students have hosted a missional student lunch with their flat mates and there’s 2 more in the diary!
