Over these past few weeks I have been working on the Fusion stand in the Toolshed at Soul Survivor B and C with an incredible team of volunteers, linking up young people to the Student Linkup app in order to find a church before they head off to uni.
We also sell the Student Linkup box to prepare them for uni life.
When training our volunteers in what the box contains I was moved once again by how important this box is.
I told them, we are not salesmen and women, we are not in this to make money out of potential students. We are selling these boxes to save lives. I believe to my core that the Student Linkup Box prepares young people for uni so effectively that if they put into practice all it encourages, students will head off to uni switched on, prepared for the culture shock and ready to live radical missional lives throughout their university lives, leaving a great legacy and Jesus footprints on campus.
The little nifty graze-like box contains 3 resources, a magazine and a pen.
The student linkup sessions is split into 4 parts looking at the culture and opportunities of uni life, covering vital topics like freshers week, drinking, relationships, money etc. It's set out like a note book to work through it, scribble all over it and really prepare and equip yourself for uni.
The Student Alphabet is literally an A-Z of anything and everything you can think about uni life from pot noodles to doorstops to finding a church to clubbing. You name it, it's in there. A great book to dip in and out of and get an overall picture of uni life.
The Studentscape is a bible study all about uni life. Work through it with you and Jesus, whilst learning how the bible relates to exactly what you're going through right now in uni.
All these resources are £5 on their own but we give you the whole box for a tenner to really equip you spiritually and practically for uni life.
