My heart has heard you say...

You walk out of the cinema after seeing the new James Bond, and Daniel Craig is standing there waiting and says, 'Come and talk to me about what you thought about the film'.

Wow. I think many of our response would be to immediately say yes and talk with Daniel Craig right?! I don't think we'd respond with 'maybe later Dan, i'm a bit busy right now'.

Do you know, that everyday we are invited to talk with the King? With our dad in heaven, the one who loves us, created us and longs for relationship with us?

Psalm 27:8

‘ My heart has heard you say

“come and talk with me”

And my heart responds,

“lord I am coming”  ’

Jesus is longing to talk with us. He is inviting us to spend time with him, talk with him, offload all that is on our minds and be filled with his peace and love and strength.

Yes life might be busy, uni is hectic, there’s essays and tests and housemate dramas and nights out and work etc etc…

But we know that our relationship with Jesus is the most important thing in life. All that we do comes out of that. Today let’s stop. Let our hearts hear him.

‘Come and talk with me…..’

Then there requires the response. What is God saying to our hearts and how may we need to respond?

In the midst of your busyness today, take some time out and let your response to God be…..

‘Lord I am coming’.

What does that look like for you? To say 'Lord I am coming?'

Put some worship music on, write a prayer, read a chapter of the New Testament, write a list of all you’re grateful for, say sorry, pray for your housemate, ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with peace or joy or strength, be silent and listen.

Come expectant for God to speak to your heart and be ready to respond to his call.
