I came to Loughborough for university which is where I came to know Jesus through a first year flatmate of mine who invited me along to church and to various events that were being put on. Whilst at the start I went as a chance to see my friend and get to know more people, I started to feel properly at home and safe in this place. I have since gone on to be baptised and make countless friends within my church and I can honestly say that finding Jesus and a community of His people is the best thing that ever happened to me
This is what makes me so passionate for Student Mission and giving all that I can for other students in a similar place to where I was, feeling extremely isolated at times, so they can have that same opportunity to be brought into a community and a family that can and do change lives. With how open students are to trying new things at university with faith and the church being included in that, as well as the need for a place to belong to in a new location away from your family and friends, Student Mission is as important as ever. Will you be one of my partners to bring the joy and freedom that Jesus can bring to students?
