Hope for Drama Schools

First year of drama school, is notorious for being the break you down to build you back up again year.

Where is hope for freshers when they’re told “ You’re not good enough, you need to change?”.

Where is hope for freshers when lecturers say they need to explore drugs
and alcohol to understand themselves, their passion, their art?

Where is hope for freshers when they’re told, even at the end of their training they rely on a lucky break, or chance encounters to secure their career?

Hope can be seen through the student whose life explodes with freedom, joy and the bold declaration of “I am enough”.

Hope can be seen through the student whose exploration of drugs and alcohol, doesn’t look like them doing it but them getting alongside people struggling with addiction and loving them in a way they haven’t been before. Hope can be seen through the student that doesn’t step on the toes of their ensemble members but cheers them on because they know their future has already been secured and planned.

Hope comes when we realize that hope isn’t wishful thinking, hope isn’t positive thoughts or having good energy. Hope is the confident expectation that something will happen. True hope comes from trusting God.

What are you hoping to see happen at your drama school?

"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."

We have hope for freshers
