Frederic is a wild worshipper who is passionate about the mission of God for students and the nation of France! You can’t help but feel energetic around him and he is a powerful example of counting the cost and following the dreams God puts inside us.
Do you dream with God?
Yes, for me it means to see God in other people’s lives and see God around me, each day. It is to see his miracles, what he is speaking and seeing him make the way straight for me and others.
God often highlights to me things I want. I see them and he gives them to me. God showed me that I want to take the gospel to France so I started to pray about it. I then met Jo who works for Fusion amongst French churches and a close friend introduced me to the head of France Mission who I got to see last month. In both cases, we spoke about some things I could do in France and how I could partner with the local churches there.
I’d love to see people set apart in France that burn for Jesus within their communities. I hope to go there next year and partner with some churches in Paris. The dream came from a time in the prayer room, I made up my mind but put it aside until the timing was right and then these things happens!
What do you sense amongst students who want to dream?
Dreaming can definitely be done but asking and receiving is difficult without God. Perhaps people’s ideas and dreams break and fail without God! Lasting dreams are given by God. It’s normal to want to have a goal, strive for things like a plan and purpose. That’s why we get up in the morning. However, if dreams are temporary and material they are likely to fail, when perseverance comes into play with God, the paths are made straight!
Can you tell us a bit about the alpha course you led?
I had a dream to connect with more people on campus so they could connect with Jesus. We got to serve people with food, discuss Christianity and water seeds in student’s lives whilst they are here in Exeter. I have one particular friend who God put on my heart for this. I invited him for dinner but he didn’t come. However, after this I had a dream where he was willing to come to alpha! I messaged him about this and he came along, he also came to Church recently too. He struggles because he doesn’t feel part of the family but it simply requires prayer, compassion and invitation and we will see him saved!
