Don't miss it! Something is coming alive in you.

Can you see what is coming alive?

Our lives are now substantially different. It's confusing for the mind, the body and the spirit. We're not getting outside as much, not traveling to uni, you might be eating differently, your body might be feeling uneasy with less sunlight and exercise. Your mind might feel a little less stimulated with limited human contact. You could find yourself saying 'well what do I do now?'. Our normal rhythm of life has been interrupted, some of us are probably yearning for more routine. It’s ok to feel confused and delirious at this time.

You might be thinking, ‘I normally go out at this time’, ‘normally I see this person at this time’. Our lives are being significantly disrupted, a lot of what we are used to has stopped and it might feel like some things are dying.

I know some have had to postpone weddings and holidays. We're hearing the word cancelled a lot at the moment. For some of us, some dreams that we had for this year have died or feel like they're dying.

It's OK to acknowledge that what we took for granted is no longer possible.

In response to this, I want to focus on one question. What is coming alive in you at this time?

There is an opportunity for life in new ways, fresh ways - we will look different on the other side of this but let's not miss it! What is coming alive in you? Spring is now in full flow, the sun is out, trees are coming to life and there is a sense of anticipation for all that is growing around us. Whilst we might not feel we can fully enjoy the outdoors, I want us to consider what is coming to life in our hearts at this time.

'There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace. What do workers gain from their toil? I have seen the burden God has laid on the human race. He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. '

Ecclesiastes 3: 1-11

There is a time for everything. God will make everything beautiful in its time. He has put eternity into the human heart.

God is making us beautiful at this time. In the middle of social distancing, there is a time for everything. So what is it time for in your life? What is coming alive in you?

It might be your devotional life, your creativity, your prayer life, a friendship, your sensitivity to the spirit, how you are taking care of yourself. It might be songwriting, your friendship with a neighbour - it might be that you need to grieve some things, to let go of some pain. Even if it feels negative, it might be coming alive and need to be processed!

God makes everything beautiful in its time so what is coming to life in you?

Write down 2 ways you are coming alive at this time - it's vital we push into these things otherwise we'll miss the purpose of this season.
