The mission remains vast... and so we remain on it

The mission is still vast.

This year so far has been amazing for many and a struggle for many.  Irrespective of what its been for you, the mission is still vast.  So few students are connected with church and student culture continues to be filled with unengaged consumerists.  Hundreds of churches are stepping up and becoming part of the story of transformation that is being seen amongst the students of the UK.  Hundreds of others don’t see the point, don’t feel they can, or just don’t know where to start.

The mission is still vast.  Much has been done, there is still much to do.  The harvest is still ripe, the workers remain few.  In my church over the last three years we’ve seen student numbers rise from under 10 to over 80.  We’ve seen people come to know Jesus, to be baptised, and we’ve seen them turn around and bring in their friends.  But there are still over 9,000 students in this city who haven’t a clue of it all.  So there’s still much to be done, the race doesn’t stop!

In September Fusion is having its latest Student Work Conference, and if you are a student worker, we want to see you there.  We want to see you there if you have a student work of 2 or 200, if you consider yourself an expert, or someone who has no clue.  We want to welcome student workers from all over the UK to celebrate, yes, but also because the mission is still vast and we're all a part of that.  There is still a need to stand together, to pray, to envision, to share and to encourage.  There is still a need to commit ourselves once more to this cause, to see students find freedom, find life, and find purpose in Christ.  There is still a need to encourage our volunteers, our interns, our students in their leadership, and very much still a need to be refreshed in our own.  Because when September comes around, the mission field only increases with millions of new students!  We are committed to supporting, upholding, equipping, and refreshing you through this, do get stuck in!

So if you’ve been before or have never been; if you consider yourself an expert or someone who has no clue, please do register for the Student Work Conference and bring those who work alongside you.  It is a gathering designed to equip and refresh you, and its there because we believe in you and we believe in what God is desperate to see for his world in the next 18 months through you and the students in your localities.

May God bless you as you continue to work to see great things amongst the students you love.
