We Love Youth workers

We love youth workers.  We love their dedication, their vision and their creativity.

We love that they are committed to working in a challenging environment with world shapers and future leaders - scrap that, with leaders.

This year Fusion has begun a mission to partner with as many youth workers as we can.

For years we've connected with student workers and church leaders who are battling to see university students reached with the gospel.  For years we've helped them welcome thousands of students each year.  Now is the time for that all important question...where do they come from?

It's all very well helping student workers be ready to welcome students, but what about those who never show up?

Having been a local church student worker for three years, I saw the drastic difference it made when freshers had been prepared for uni by stellar youth workers.  I saw those who came intending to find a new church home, and those who thought it would just happen.  I saw the former in week 1, and all too often the latter halfway through year 2, shuffling in with a bag of regrets and missed opportunities to carry with them.

Youth workers are the key.  They are the ones with the opportunity, the authority, the tools and the heart.  They are the ones who've trekked with these guys and know them, and feel the ache to see them connect on once they've left.  They are perfectly placed to help their young people not only leave knowing Jesus, but arrive at the other end.  They have the desire not just to make teenage disciples, but lifelong disciples, and that starts with landing well at the next stage.  We are here to support those youth workers through resourcing, advising, introducing your young people to churches and ever listening and learning.

If you're a youth worker, we want to be your friend!  Please get in touch and I can let you know about how we can help you.  You can also see more on the Student Linkup pages.

This last week I did the Youthwork Podcast and chatted to Martin, Phoebe and Jamie about this very transition, you can check it out here.
