Rejection Proof - Escape & Pray Devotionals - Day 9

Read Luke 10: v10-16

'But when you enter a town and are not welcomed, go into its streets and say…  “Whoever listens to you listens to me; whoever rejects you rejects me; but whoever rejects me rejects him who sent me"' Luke 10

Have you been to a place and not felt welcome? It happens. It could be you, it could be them. It doesn't matter why, it matters what happens next. Do you retain the right perspective?

As Jesus' ambassadors you need to know that the Kingdom drawing near is based on Jesus not a person's response. We are not in control of people's responses. We're to do our absolute best to follow Jesus' instructions and then trust Holy Spirit to make up the difference.

Be confident that you carry God's Presence whether you have positive responses or not.

Misunderstanding frustrates. Disappointment aches.  Rejection hurts.

Jesus knows this is going to happen and he wants to prepare you for it and ensure you’re strong enough to keep moving forward.

As Jesus' ambassadors you are carrying a message and that can be rejected. It's not you, it's the one who sent you.  "Failure" as much as "success" is designed to form you in Christlikeness. Persecution brings perfection. Don't resist it, you're rejection proof.

Prayer:

Thank you Father that I am accepted and free in your Son. I never need to fear rejection, misunderstanding and disappointment. Strengthen me with a revelation of who I am as your loved son/daughter. Amen

Action:

Ask God to heal you of rejection and strengthen you with your secure identity.
